Searchable Clock Events List

Clock events -- the clock-ins and clock-outs that your technicians perform when traveling to or working on the jobs you assign to them -- are a core component of your ServiceTrade data.  However, previously there were only limited ways to use your clock event data in the aggregate.

With this release, it's now possible to search, filter, and export your clock events so you can use that information to analyze your technicians' clock-in/clock-out behavior, and to import that information into other systems, such as payroll.

To view the job clock events list, simply navigate to the Jobs list in ServiceTrade, then click the 'Jobs' title in the jobs list and choose 'Job Clock Events' in the menu that appears.

On the Job Clock Events list, you can search the list by job number, technician name, type of activity (en route, on site, or job preparation), and clock in timeframe.

The list search results can be exported to a spreadsheet for further use.  For instance, you could export a week's worth of activity for all technicians and then analyze in Excel or a reporting tool to determine which technicians have a large amount of drive time relative to their on site work time.  Or, you could export all the clock events for the current pay period to create an import file of your technicians' work time for importing into your payroll system.

IMPORTANT:  The clock events in ServiceTrade may not represent 100% of your technicians' work time, because meetings, training, and other non-customer-focused activities will not have clock events associated with them.  If you wish to use ServiceTrade's clock events to drive your technicians' payroll, you will need to review and adjust the export to account for non-job-related activities.

Manage Available Asset Types

ServiceTrade has a large library of asset definitions -- the different types of assets that you can use in ServiceTrade  Previously, your account was given access to all the assets related to each service line that your company performs.  However, there are cases where you may not wish to use all the asset definitions that you receive by default -- for instance, if some of the types of assets that your company simply doesn't service, or which aren't relevant to your particular business.

To support those needs, it's now possible to edit the types of assets that users can use in your ServiceTrade account.  By default, all asset types for all your service lines are enabled, but you can now disable asset types that you do not wish to use.  You may also enable asset types for service lines that you do NOT typically peform.

To manage your asset types, click on your account profile avatar in the upper right corner of any page and choose 'Account Settings'.  On the settings page that appears, open the 'Asset Types' section and adjust the asset types as appropriate.

The available asset types are organized into two sections:  'Provided Service Lines', which contains all the asset types for the service lines that your company performs, and 'Other Service Lines', which contains all remaining asset types.  You may select asset types from either section; however, if you choose an asset type for a service line that you do not provide, you will have more difficulty in searching for those assets (and their associated services) by service line.

Only the asset types that you have selected will be available to your users when they create new assets, and when they search for existing assets by asset type.

IMPORTANT:  The ability to adjust asset types is available only to users with the 'Account Admin' activity.
