Role Activities and Descriptions

Roles in ServiceTrade are defined by what Activities have been granted to a Role. Activities are sometimes referred to as permissions.

Account Admins may need to create custom Roles for their staff. Understanding what each Activity allows is important to create a custom Role.

Below is a list of all available Role Activities and their descriptions.

  1. Admin Account - Modify account settings, integrations, and billing information
  2. Admin Attachments - Create, edit or delete any attachments
  3. Admin Comments - Edit or delete any comments attached to anything in your account
  4. Admin Companies - Full read/write access for all companies in your account
  5. Admin Contacts - Full read/write access for all contacts in your account
  6. Admin Contracts - Full read/write access for all contracts in your account
  7. Admin Deficiencies - Full read/write access for all deficiencies in your account
  8. Admin Invoices - Full read/write access for all invoices in your account
  9. Admin Item List - Create and edit items on the item list
  10. Admin Job Clock Events - Add, remove, and edit clock events on a job
  11. Admin Jobs - View, edit, or perform workflows on any job in the system
  12. Admin Locations - Full read/write access for all locations and offices in your account
  13. Admin Quote Templates - Create and edit global and company-specific quote templates
  14. Admin Service Line Assignments - Modify service line assignments at all locations
  15. Admin Service Templates - Create and edit service templates in your account
  16. Admin User Roles - Create user roles and modify the permissions that each one has
  17. Admin Users - View, edit, change passwords, and set permissions for all users in your account
  18. Bulk Create/Schedule Jobs - Bulk create and schedule jobs using the scheduler, service opportunity creator, and dispatch board
  19. Bulk Export Company Data - Can bulk export company (customer and vendor) data to other formats like CSV
  20. Bulk Export Contract Data - Can bulk export contract data to other formats like CSV
  21. Bulk Export Deficiency Data - Can bulk export deficiency data to other formats like CSV
  22. Bulk Export Invoice Data - Can bulk export invoice data to other formats like CSV
  23. Bulk Export Item List - Can bulk export item list data to other formats like CSV
  24. Bulk Export Job Data - Can bulk export job data to other formats like CSV
  25. Bulk Export Location Data - Can bulk export location and asset data to other formats like CSV
  26. Bulk Export Quote Data - Can bulk export quote data to other formats like CSV
  27. Bulk Export User Data - Can bulk export user data to other formats like CSV
  28. Clock In and Out - Clock in and out of jobs
  29. Create Locations for My Company - Create new locations for your company
  30. Create Locations for Other Companies - Create new locations for other companies to which you have access
  31. Create a New Company - Create a new customer or vendor company in your account
  32. Delete Companies - Can delete any customer and vendor companies that have no data attached
  33. Delete Locations - Can delete any locations, including offices, that have no data attached
  34. Edit Appointments - View, update, and edit appointments
  35. Edit Assets - Create, update and edit assets for a location
  36. Edit Contacts - Edit contacts and create new ones
  37. Edit Contact Types - Edit and create new contact types
  38. Edit Contracts - List, create, and edit contracts
  39. Edit Deficiencies - Edit and manage deficiencies at a location
  40. Edit Location Info for My Company - Edit your own company location information
  41. Edit Location Info for Other Company - Edit location information for other companies
  42. Edit My Company Info - Edit your own company information
  43. Edit Other Company Info - Edit information for other companies (customers and vendors) in your account
  44. Edit Quotes - Edit any quote assigned to the user's company
  45. Edit Service Assignments - Modify your company's service assignments to vendors at each location
  46. Edit Service Self-Assignments - Indicate which service lines your company serves at a location
  47. Edit Tags - Can add or remove existing tags
  48. Edit Tasks and Task Lists - Can create, edit, and remove tasks, task list templates, and task lists
  49. Edit Users - View, edit, change passwords, and set permissions only for users belonging to your company
  50. Export Contacts - Export contacts
  51. Field Invoicing - Create and edit invoices for jobs where you are assigned as a tech
  52. Manage Blank Paperwork - Create, edit or delete blank paperwork and define when they apply
  53. Manage Budgets - Full read/write access for all budget management features
  54. Manage External IDs - Can manage external system IDs
  55. Manage Invoices - Create, edit, and send invoices for your jobs
  56. Manage Jobs - Manage defining, assigning, canceling, copying jobs, and modifying their job items Allows users to search for Jobs they aren't assigned to as a tech
  57. Manage My Attachments - View, update, and edit attachments that you created
  58. Manage Own Budgets -Full read/write access for all budget management features for own budgets
  59. Manage Payments - Create, update and edit payments for an invoice
  60. Manage Quote Templates - Manage quote templates for the user's company
  61. Manage Recurring Invoices - Create, edit, and send invoices for your jobs
  62. Manage Salesperson Assignments - Can manage salesperson assignments on jobs, quotes, and other records
  63. Manage Tags - Can manage tags
  64. Mobile App Access - Indicates if you have access to mobile app
    *Users will need to be assigned a role that has this activity to authenticate successfully into the mobile app. Combined with either 'Perform a Job as Helper' or 'Perform a Job as Tech' will count toward your licensed subscription total.
  65. Modify Job Items as a Tech - Can modify job items if assigned as a tech to that job
  66. Modify Services On My Jobs - Modify the services on jobs where you are assigned as a tech
  67. Perform a Job as a Helper - Can be assigned as a helper to a job
    *Will assign the user the User Type 'Helper.' Is only available via the default Role 'Account Tech Helper.'
  68. Perform a Job as a Tech - Can be assigned as a tech to a job or appointment
    *Will assign the user the User Type 'Technician.'
  69. Report Deficiencies - Report and update deficiencies at a location
  70. Request Quotes - Request or create a new quote
  71. Schedule Jobs at My Location - Create and schedule jobs at locations where you are a preferred technician for a recurring service
  72. Schedule My Jobs - Schedule jobs where you are assigned as a tech
  73. Submit Task Response - Allows users to submit responses to tasks and task lists
  74. See Estimated Job Prices - Can see estimated prices on a job's services
  75. View All Invoices - View all invoices in your account
  76. View Budgets - Read access for all budget management features
  77. View Contacts - View contacts
  78. View Contracts - View any contract of which your company is a party
  79. View Deficiencies - View deficiencies at a location
  80. View Invoices for My Company’s Jobs - View individual invoices for jobs for which your company is the vendor or the customer
  81. View Location Info for My Company - View information about your company's locations
  82. View Location Info for Other Companies - View assets and other information about locations for other companies
  83. View Other Companies - View information about other companies (customers and vendors)
  84. View Quotes - View any quote assigned to the user's company
  85. View Tags - Can view existing tags
  86. View Users - View user information
  87. View and Edit Labor Item Costs - Can see and edit costs on job and quote labor items only Does not work unless 'View and Edit Non-Labor Item Costs' is also granted
  88. View and Edit Non-Labor Item Costs - Can see and edit costs on all job and quote items, except labor items 'View and Edit Labor Item Costs' is also required to see and edit labor item costs
  89. View, List, and Search Jobs - View, list, and search for jobs
  90. View, List, and Search Other Techs’ Jobs - As a tech, view, list, and search for jobs assigned to techs other than yourself
