This is a reference to bulk importing Assets into ServiceTrade.
Before you get started on completing our Asset Type import template, you should:
- Familiarize yourself with the concept of Assets in ServiceTrade.
- Review the general information on bulk importing.
Note: It is important to test your bulk Imports. All of our customers should have a Demo ServiceTrade Account. Use your Demo Account to test the import first, to avoid duplication or creating errors in your Production Account. It is not possible to delete in bulk in ServiceTrade.
If you do not know what your Demo Account credentials are, please reach out to Customer Support.
Asset Import Template Field Definitions
The following Field Names are used by all Asset Type import templates. It's important to understand that every Asset Type will have different fields.
Below is a list of the only two Field Names and Definitions that are available and required on every Asset Type Import Template.
Field Names | Field Definitions |
location_name |
The name of the Job site, such as"Buc-ee's (Florence)". |
asset_type |
The coded Asset Type that you are importing. A full listing of possible Asset Types can be found here. Values for this field are always lowercase, with underscores, and no spaces. Example: hvac_unit, not HVAC Unit. *required |
Based on the Asset Type other fields may also be required.
We do not publish a list of which fields are required for which Asset, nor do we publish definitions for what those fields mean. These are usually both industry-specific and mostly self-explanatory.
To test which fields are required for an Asset Type, go to a test Location and attempting to manually create a single Asset of that Asset Type in your Account.
The Create Asset Menu will show you all available fields for a given Asset Type, and which fields are required.
