Creating and Managing Quotes as a Tech in the Web App View

Using the Web App View with a default role added, techs can add new create and manage quotes in the field. This article will walk you through creating and managing quotes on the field.

Note: The create quote function is not available in the ServiceTrade Mobile App.

Add the Default Role 'Account Tech + Field Quoting'

In order for your techs to create and manage quotes in the field, they will need the Account Tech + Field Quoting role assigned to their user.

  1. On the Nav Bar, click My Account.
  2. Then click Users.
  3. Tap on the user you want to add a role too.
  4. Tap the Roles accordion.
  5. On the Choose Role drop-down, select the 'Account Tech + Field Quoting'

    • Note: If you also want your techs to be able to add services to quotes they create, they will need the default role 'Account Tech + Service Editing'
  6. Tap Assign Role.

Creating a Quote as a Tech in Web App View

Before you begin, it's important to learn about how to use the Web App View. It's also important to understand how to Create and Manage Quotes in ServiceTrade.

  1. Logged into ServiceTrade as a Tech, on your mobile browser, click this link to Navigate to the Web App View.
    • Note: If this link does not work, it means you are not logged in as a Tech user.
  2. Log in using your ServiceTrade credentials.
  3. Tap 'Add Quote' from the Web App View's main menu.

  4. On the Create Quote menu, search and select a Location.
  5. Select a Job Type.
  6. Select a Contract.
  7. Tap Save when done.

This will create the quote in Draft status and direct you to the Manage Quote menu for the quote you just created.

Managing a Quote as a Tech in Web App View

  1. On the Manage Quote menu. you can click the arrow on the top right to Edit Quote Details.
  2. Enter all relevant information on the Edit Quote Details menu and click Save.

  3. Tap Add a Quote Description.
  4. Enter all relevant information on the Edit Quote Description menu and click Save.

  5. *Optional Tap Add Service to open the Create Service menu.
  6. *Optional Enter all relevant information on the Create Service menu and click Save.
    • Repeat Steps 5 and 6 as many times as you require.

  7. *Optional Tap the drop-down arrow next to Add Service and select Add Deficiency.

  8. *Optional Enter all relevant information on the Create Deficiency menu and click Save.
    • Repeat Steps 7 and 8 as many times as you require.
  9. *Optional Tap Add Quote Item to open the Add Quote Item menu.
  10. *Optional Enter all relevant information on the Add Quote Item menu and click Save.
    • Repeat Steps 9 and 10 as many times as you require.

  11. *Optional Tap the + button next Files and Photos

When done, you can either apply this quote as a quote template, review the quote with the customer on-site,  send the quote to the customer's email, or cancel the quote.

Using a Quote Template

If your company uses quote templates you can apply a template to save yourself time entering information.

  1. On the Manage Quote menu, click the Actions menu.
  2. Select Apply Quote Template.
  3. On the Choose a Quote Template drop-down, select the quote template your prefer.
  4. Tap Apply Template, to auto-populate information onto your quote.

Reviewing Your Quotes With Customers in the Web App View

You can either review your quote with your customer on the field or email the quote to the customer.

Review With Customer

  1. On the Manage Quote menu, click the Actions menu.
  2. Select Review With Customer.
  3. Select the contacts with whom you will review this quote or tap to Add Contact.
  4. Tap Review Quote.
  5. The Customer will be able to view the quote and sign. Have the Customer check the Authorization box and tap Approve and Sign.
  6. The customer can then verify their name, email, and signature.
  7. Then have the customer click Continue.

The Quote Status will change to Accepted and all Services on the quote will be Approved.

Send by Email

  1. On the Manage Quote menu, click the Actions menu.
  2. Select Send by Email.
  3. Select the contacts with whom you will send this quote or tap to Add Contact.
  4. Click Send Quote to email the quote.

The Quote Status will change to Submitted.

Managing Quotes as a Tech in the Web App View

  1. To view the quotes that you're currently working on, choose 'My Quotes' in the main menu.
  2. Then select the correct quote.
  3. Click the Actions button to select Edit Quote or Cancel Quote.
  4. You can also Send and Review quotes from here as well.
