Creating and Managing Clock Events

This article will guide Account Admin users through the process of creating and managing Clock Events within the ServiceTrade Web Application.

Note: Only users with the Account Admin User Role are able to create and manage Clock Events for technicians on Jobs.

 

Creating Clock Events

Users in ServiceTrade with the Account Admin User Role are able to create and manage Clock Events for technicians on Appointments.

To create a new clock event, Administrators will need to do the following on the Job Page:

  1. Click on the Clock Events accordion to open the Clock Events section.
  2. Click on the "+ Clock Event" button.
  3. Select the radio button for the proper clock event activity: En Route, On Site, or Job Prep.
  4. Select the Technician for the clock event from the drop-down menu.
  5. Select the Appointment from the drop-down menu that the clock event should be associated with.
  6. Type in the Date and Time of the Clock In event.
    • The format used for Date and Time for clock events is: "YYYY-MM-DD hh:mm:ss"
    • Example: 2023-03-31 12:07:06
  7. Click the "+ Add Clock Out" button to enable the Clock Out entry field.
  8. Type in the Date and Time of the Clock Out event.
  9. If applicable, enter in the GPS coordinates of the Tech's location or Job Site where the clock event took place.
    • Note: The GPS coordinates of all new clock events will default to the coordinates of the Job Location for the selected appointment, unless otherwise adjusted.
  10. Click Save when finished.

Managing Clock Events

Users in ServiceTrade with the Account Admin User Role are able to edit and manage Clock Events for technicians on Jobs.

To Manage and Edit clock events, Administrators will need to do the following on the Job Page:

  1. Click on the Clock Events accordion to open the Clock Events section.
  2. Click the Pencil Button to the far right of the Clock Event you wish to edit.
  3. Enter in the new Clock In Event and Clock Out Event dates and times as needed.
  4. Click Save when finished.

Clock Events Totals

The clock events total at the top of the Clock Event Menu shows the total time for all appointments for each clock event type. The TOTAL shows the sum of all clock event types for all appointments (including on-break clock events.)

However, if you have a Job Filter on, it will only show the clock event totals of appointments for the selected date range on the job filter.
