ServiceTrade will soon start rolling out Single Sign-On (SSO) across most of our applications. For an overview of our 3-phased rollout plan, click here.
This article outlines what you can expect during phase one. The first step is moving ServiceTrade accounts (for the ServiceTrade Web Application only) to sign in via our Universal Login page so that user credentials are stored in Auth0, our third-party identity management system. We will be migrating customer accounts over in groups from mid-late October.
Once your account is migrated, you will notice two changes:
- A slight change in your ServiceTrade Web App login experience.
- A workflow change for password resets for users and admins.
Note: ServiceTrade holds security in the highest regard and assures its users that we will never request their login credentials. Your trust and data security are our top priorities.
How will my login experience change?
Once your account has been selected to migrate, the next time you log in to the ServiceTrade Web App, you will notice a different experience.
Once you have entered your Username at app.servicetrade.com and clicked "Continue," you will be redirected to the Universal Login Page, where you can enter your password. Once you enter your correct password, you will be authenticated and redirected to your ServiceTrade dashboard.
What if I cannot remember my password the first time I am redirected to the Universal Login Page?
If you cannot remember your password, you must contact one of the admin users in your ServiceTrade account to reset your password in ServiceTrade.
After All Accounts Have Migrated to the New Experience
Once the migration period is complete for all ServiceTrade accounts, the ServiceTrade login page will look like the below image. The "Log in to ServiceTrade" button will take you to the Universal Login Page, where you can enter your username and password.
Make sure your techs and office staff know their current password.
Because the migration will require all users to log in to ServiceTrade, we recommend you make sure all of your techs and office staff know their current password to streamline this process.
If they do not know their password, have your Account Admin perform a reset for the users and securely provide them with their new credentials.
How will resetting my password change?
Once your account has been migrated and you successfully logged into the ServiceTrade Web App via the Universal Login Page, how you reset your password will change.
In your account settings, you will no longer be able to enter your current password to change to a new password:
You will only be able to receive a secure password reset email, which will provide a link to reset your password. This email will be sent from no-reply@id.servicetrade.com

Will I still be able to change my user's passwords?
As an Account Admin, you have historically been able to change your users' passwords by entering your account admin password and then entering their new password. This is no longer the case once the user has first logged in using SSO.
Moving forward, you will need to do the following to reset their password:
- Log in as an Account Admin.
- Navigate to the Users page.
- Select the User whose password you want to reset.
- On the User's page, click the Reset Password button.
- On the Reset Password pop-up window, confirm the user's email address.
- Click the Reset Password button.
- This will send you an email to the email address in your account settings that will allow you to reset your password.
- This email will be sent from no-reply@id.servicetrade.com or
servicetrade-noreply@servicetrade.com
- This email will be sent from no-reply@id.servicetrade.com or
- Click the click here to reset your password link to be redirected to a Change Your Password Menu.
- They will then enter and re-enter their New Password.
- They will then click Reset Password to finalize the password reset.
How will this impact the credentials stored in my Password Managers?
If you use a Password Manager like Google Password Manager, 1Password, LastPass, etc., you must add a new login URL to your existing credentials.
In addition to the URL http://app.servicetrade.com/auth, you will also want to add http://id.servicetrade.com.
This will ensure that when you visit the new login page, your stored credentials in your password manager of choice will recognize the new login fields on the new login page.
How do I log in to ServiceTrade with Microsoft or Google?
Integrations with Microsoft Entra ID and Google Workspace will be part of the next Phase of SSO at ServiceTrade. You can learn more about our 3-phase rollout plan here.
