The Attachments section is useful for adding files like photos, documents, or other media to provide additional details to various pages within the ServiceTrade app. Attachments can be viewed and managed from the following pages: Job, Quote, Location, Company, Contract, Deficiency, and Asset.
Attachment List View vs. Grid View
Attachments can be viewed and organized via two different views. There is a List View and Grid View.
- To switch between the Grid View and the List View, you can just go ahead and navigate to the page where you want to add an attachment.
- Note: Attachments can be uploaded on the following pages: Job, Quote, Location, Company, Contract, Deficiency, and Asset.
- Click the Attachments accordion to expand the Attachments section.
- Click the view mode toggle and select the desired view.
- Attachments Grid View - The Grid View displays thumbnail icons. This view is helpful when you need to see previews of what each attachment looks like.
- Attachments List View - The List View displays your attachments in a compact list of rows and columns. This view is helpful when you need to review large amounts of attachments.
Attachments Grid View
The Grid View displays thumbnail icons of all of the attachments organized by their Attachment Types:
- Job Paperwork
- Documentation and Audio Memos
- Job Invoices
- Job Vendor Bills
- Blank Paperwork
Attachments List View
For viewing large amounts of attachment records the List View organizes your attachments into a compact list of rows and columns.
Note: In List View, there is an additional Add Attachments button at the bottom of the list.
Each attachment is represented in a row of the list. Each row will show the following information in each column:
- Description - The name of the attachment
- Service - Displays information when an attachment is associated with a service.
- Type - Job Paperwork, Documentation and Audio Memos, Job Invoices, Job Vendor Bills, Blank Paperwork
- Upload - The date the attachment was uploaded.
Filtering Attachments
When searching for specific attachments on a page, the attachments filter can be used to narrow down the number of attachments displayed based on their description and associated service.
Adding Attachments
- Navigate to the page where you want to add an attachment.
- Note: Attachments can be uploaded on the following pages: Job, Quote, Location, Company, Contract, Deficiency, and Asset.
- Click the Attachments accordion to expand the Attachments section.
- Click the Add Attachments button.
- Type a description for the attachment in the Description field.
- Select an attachment type.
- Select who can access the attachment using the Visible To drop-down menu.
- Click Choose Files to upload the desired attachments.
- Click Upload.
Editing Attachments
The steps to edit an attachment are slightly different depending on which view is selected. To learn more about the attachment views, please review our List View / Grid View toggle section.
Editing Attachments in Grid View
- Navigate to the page where you want to edit an attachment.
- Note: Attachments can be uploaded on the following pages: Job, Quote, Location, Company, Contract, Deficiency, and Asset.
- Click the Attachments accordion to expand the Attachments section.
- Hover over the desired attachment.
- Click the pencil icon.
- The Description and attachment visibility can be edited.
Note: Attachments uploaded to the Attachments accordion will display None for Associated Service. - Once all edits have been made, click Save.
Editing Attachments in List View
- Navigate to the page where you want to edit an attachment.
- Note: Attachments can be uploaded on the following pages: Job, Quote, Location, Company, Contract, Deficiency, and Asset.
- Click the Attachments accordion to expand the Attachments section.
- Click the cog wheel icon.
- Click the Edit button.
- The Description and attachment visibility can be edited.
Note: Attachments uploaded to the Attachments accordion will display None for Associated Service. - Once all edits have been made, click Save.
Deleting Attachments
The steps to delete an attachment are slightly different depending on which view is selected. To learn more about the attachment views, please review our List View / Grid View toggle section.
Deleting Attachments in Grid View
- Navigate to the page where you want to delete an attachment.
- Note: Attachments can be uploaded on the following pages: Job, Quote, Location, Company, Contract, Deficiency, and Asset.
- Click the Attachments accordion to expand the Attachments section.
- Hover over the desired attachment.
- Click the trash can icon.
- To confirm, click Delete Attachment.
Note: Attachments cannot be deleted in bulk.
Deleting Attachments in List View
- Navigate to the page where you want to delete an attachment.
- Note: Attachments can be uploaded on the following pages: Job, Quote, Location, Company, Contract, Deficiency, and Asset.
- Click the Attachments accordion to expand the Attachments section.
- Click the cog wheel icon.
- Click the Delete button.
- To confirm, click Delete Attachment.
Note: Attachments cannot be deleted in bulk.
