Important Note: PartsLedger is now PartsManager. PartsManager retains all of the parts purchasing and warehouse management automation benefits of its predecessor. To read more about this exciting change, click here.

PartsManager, formerly known as PartsLedger, allows you to add and manage Tax Codes that can be used on Purchase Order Line Items.

This article will walk you through how to add and manage Tax Codes in PartsManager.

Note: Tax Codes cannot be imported in bulk. Tax Codes are convenient settings meant to pre-populate and calculate amounts where tax can be applied, but the tax account and rate can be adjusted on a line-by-line basis.

Adding a Tax Code

  1. On the Navigation Bar, click Settings.
  2. Then click Tax Codes, to view the Tax Codes Menu
  3. Click the + New button.
  4. Enter a Code name.
    • Note: It's best practice to include either the zip or city name in the tax code so you can easily search and select the correct tax code.
  5. Enter the Rate in percentage.
    • Note: Must be greater than 0.
  6. Select a Tax Account.
    • Note: If you are unsure which account to select contact your Accounting Team.
  7. Enter a Description of the Tax Code. *optional
  8. Click Submit, when done.

Editing and Deleting Tax Codes

  1. On the Navigation Bar, click Settings.
  2. Then click Tax Codes, to view the Tax Codes Menu.
  3. On the relevant tax code line, click the 3-dot icon under the Actions column.
  4. You can click the Pencil icon to edit the Tax Code or the Trash Can icon to delete the tax code.

  • Edit - Clicking the Edit Icon will open the Edit Tax Code Menu. Edit the relevant fields and click Submit when done.
  • Delete - Clicking the Delete Icon will delete the tax code. Click Confirm to delete.

Managing Tax Codes

Search - Search for the Tax Code to find it quickly.

    1. Click the Search icon
    2. Enter the tax code name in the Filter by Code field.

Export - Table data can be exported using the export button at the top of the table.

  1. Click the Export icon.
  2. This will download an .xlsx file of your tax codes. See Exporting Data From PartsManager for more info.
